Among the fifth and final season’s many twists and turns was the reveal thatJohn had been killedby hitmen as part of a murder-for-hire plot coordinated by Jamie’s (Wes Bentley) girlfriend, Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri).

Speaking withThe Hollywood Reporterafter John’s shocking death,Yellowstonedirector and cinematographer Christina Alexandra Voros praised creator Taylor Sheridan’s decision to center the season around the emotional aftermath of his passing rather than the act.

“What’s interesting about birth and death is not the birth and death itself, but the way it affects us as people,” she said at the time. “To me, I think that was the driving force in telling the story this way. He’s asked, ‘How does everybody else survive and what do they do?’ And that’s where the mystery is. That is where the unraveling is. That is where the story is.”

“I need you ready for the hard parts ’cause they’re coming,” she says. Carter simply responds, “Sounds like fun.”

As far as Hamilton is concerned, the Miami Grand Prix — which consists of 57 laps around the 3.36-mile Miami International Autodrome track at upwards of 200 to 205 mph — offers a challenge, particularly after last season in which he failed to make a podium for thefirst time in his career.

Undermanned Wolves try to eliminate balanced Nuggets in Game 6

Faced with key injuries, the Minnesota Timberwolves will try to close out their Western Conference first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 on Thursday in Minneapolis.

Field Level Media

Minnesota successfully managed Game 4 despite losing star Anthony Edwards and his starting backcourt mate, Donte DiVincenzo, early. But with Edwards sidelined due to a bone bruise and hyperextension in his left knee and DiVincenzo gone with a torn right Achilles tendon, the Timberwolves dropped a close-out opportunity on Monday in Denver, 125-113.

Edwards and DiVincenzo were both catalysts as Minnesota gained the early advantage in the series, with Edwards going for 30 points and 10 rebounds in Game 2. DiVincenzo scored a total of 31 points in Games 2 and 3, both Timberwolves victories.

With the two perimeter playmakers out Monday, Minnesota committed 25 turnovers -- two more than the Timberwolves lost in their previous two games combined, and a team-high dating back to before the All-Star break.

"A lot of silly, forced play by guys trying to make something out of nothing," Minnesota coach Chris Finch said of the Game 5 turnover woes.

Finch also pointed to Denver's defensive adjustments, noting that the Nuggets "put two (defenders)" on Ayo Dosunmu for the first time in the series.

Dosunmu, a late-season acquisition via trade from Chicago, emerged as the hero in Game 4 after Edwards and DiVincenzo exited. He scored 43 points, bookended by performances of 25 and 18 points, respectively, in Games 3 and 5.

Aside from Julius Randle's 27 points, however, no other Minnesota player managed more than 13 in Monday's loss.

Denver, meanwhile, got 18-plus points from four of its five starters in the elimination contest. Among the quartet was forward Spencer Jones, who has seen a significant uptick in minutes with Aaron Gordon dealing with a calf injury.

Jones, who scored 11 total points in the series' first four games, went for 20 in Game 5. Gordon, who averaged 16.2 points per game in the regular season, played limited minutes in Game 4, but missed both Games 3 and 5 and is listed as questionable for Thursday.

Jones, who averaged just 5.5 points per game in the regular season, delivered his highest-scoring performance since Dec. 1 (28 points) at an opportune time.

"It's something that happened throughout the season, guys going down and me getting an opportunity to start," Jones said. "I'll get more minutes, but the role is still the same, the duties are still the same."

Building on the momentum from his making four 3-pointers Monday, Jones could play a role in Denver's key perimeter scorer, Jamal Murray, finding cleaner looks from beyond the arc.

Murray has scored 30 points three times in the series, and with his 24 in Game 5, he is up to 26.0 points per game through the five contests. That's a team-high, outpacing three-time league Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic's 25.4 ppg.

However, Murray has gone 0-for from deep twice, including the Game 3 loss.

Jokic, meanwhile, had his best game of the series Monday, finishing as a plus-18 with 27 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds. He was a plus-one, minus-21 and minus-12 in Denver's three losses.

NEED TO KNOW

  • She discovered the condition after being diagnosed with PCOS and undergoing further testing, including an ultrasound

  • Brown shared her gratitude for early diagnosis and support while poking fun at the recovery process

Hannah Brownsaid she's in her "family planning era" while recovering from surgery for a rare uterine condition that can "lead to infertility issues" and cause miscarriages.

"I finally had a procedure I'd been putting off for a while," theBachelorettealum, 31, wrote in the caption for an April 27Instagram Reelof herself resting in bed. She shared that she'd undergone surgery for a bicorporeal septate uterus, a rareconditionwhere a membrane splits the uterus. Although it's generally symptomless, it can causemiscarriages. As she described it, "basically my uterus is kind of separated into two sides, and that can lead to infertility issues."

Brown shared that she didn't know she had the condition until she was diagnosed withPCOSand underwent an ultrasound. At first, doctors thought she hadtwo uteruses— but through further testing,  "I found out I have an abnormal uterus."

"I've known for a while that I'd need to take care of this before trying to have kids one day… but life has been so full. Moving across the country, writing books, planning a wedding, buying a house — family planning just hasn't been front of mind," thenovelistexplained. "I still don't know if I'm ready (does anyone ever fully feel ready?!) but it felt like time to take a first step — and this was that for me."

In the video, Brown, resting in bed, flashes a peace symbol as her mother hands her a drink. Over the video, she penned a caption referencingJustin Bieber's ad-libs during hisperformanceof "Everything Hallelujah" at Coachella.

Superimposed over the video is the text, "Doing what I put off for years hallelujah/Successful surgery hallelujah/Family planning era hallelujah/My mom being my superhero hallelujah/Matching PJ sets hallelujah/Disposable under wear hallelujah/Naps and Netflix hallelujah."

"These are my options for the next two weeks," she said, lifting her sweatshirt to show her diaper, visible above the hem of her shorts. "It's either diaper out," she said, before pulling her pants up to show a catheter taped to the inside of her leg. "Or catheter out."

"I'm thinking we cover up the catheter," she said with a laugh. She shared that she would have the catheter for two weeks, quipping, "You won't catch me in any leggings."

Although she called the medical device "quite humbling and quite annoying," Brown kept her recovery in perspective.

"I also know how fortunate I am to have found this out ahead of time," she captioned the post. "So many women walk through loss and disappointment before getting answers, and that's not lost on me. Thank you to those who have shared your stories with me and encouraged me to share mine 🫶."

New York Mets' Luis Robert Jr. hits the injured list with disc herniation

NEW YORK (AP) — The depletedNew York Metstook another hit Thursday when center fielder Luis Robert Jr. was placed on the 10-day injured list with lumbar spine disc herniation.

Associated Press

Robert, 28, hasn’t played since the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Colorado Rockies due to what the team said was lower back tightness. AnMRI administered on Wednesdayrevealed the injury. The IL move was retroactive to April 27.

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Robert had an epidural and was instructed to rest for seven to 10 days. He said team doctors were hopeful Robert could return shortly thereafter.

“It’s just frustrating from both ends — for Luis, for us,” Mendoza said before the series finale againstthe Washington Nationals. “But we’ve got to get him back right.”

The IL stint is the 10th since 2021 for Robert, who has previously been sidelined by right hip, right knee, left wrist and left hamstring issues as well as blurred vision. He has played more than 110 games just once — in 2023, when he finished 12th in the AL MVP voting after hitting 38 homers for the Chicago White Sox.

The Mets acquired Robert from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for Luisangel Acuña in January in hopes the former Gold Glove Award winner could help improve their up-the-middle defense. He was limited to back field duty for most of spring training in an attempt to keep him healthy for the regular season.

Robert had a homer and five RBIs in the first two games of the season but has just five hits in his last 38 at-bats dating back to April 13 to drop his season average to .224.

“He’s super frustrated — yesterday and this morning, when he got the news — because he’s done everything we’re asking him to do,” Mendoza said.

Robert is the second Mets player to hit the injured list with a lumbar spine ailment this week and the third opening day position player on the shelf. Starting pitcher Kodai Senga (lumbar spine inflammation) went on the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Shortstop Francisco Lindor (left calf) and first baseman/designated hitter Jorge Polanco (left Achilles, right wrist) are also on the injured list for the Mets, who began Thursday with baseball’s worst record at 10-20.

To replace Robert, the Mets recalled infielder Eric Wagaman from Triple-A Syracuse. The club also recalled pitcher Austin Warren from Syracuse and designated veteran pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. for assignment. Edwards allowed one run in six innings of relief over two appearances this week.

How 'scalpel' changes to F1 will change the racing at the Miami Grand Prix

Formula 1 is back, and the show has changed.

F1 Miami GP Regulations Explainer

This week's Miami Grand Prix is the first test of apackage of changesthat curb the influence of the electrical battery power which has redefined howF1drivers go racing in 2026.

Drawn up during theenforced month-long breakwhen races in the Middle East were called off, the changes follow a backlash from many drivers aggrieved at the regular need to go slow to charge the all-important battery. Max Verstappen ispublicly consideringwhether to leave F1 entirely.

The electrical power has produced some thrilling on-track action with plenty of overtaking, but fans and drivers are split over how much driver skill matters when many moves are hard to defend against. Champion Lando Norris has even reported making overtakes by mistake when the power kicked in unexpectedly.

Many senior F1 figures are playing down the changes or deny there was a problem in the first place. Toto Wolff, whose Mercedes team dominated the first three changes, wanted changes made with a scalpel, not a baseball bat. The rule makers seems to have listened.

Nikolas Tombazis, the top F1 regulations official at the FIA, the sport's governing body, sees his role as a doctor prescribing diet, exercise or vitamins.

“It was quite clear we need to take certain steps. I think it was quite clear that people also need to come out of their comfort zone for some of these discussions,” he said Monday.

Avoiding another huge crash

Drivers had been warning for months about big differences in speed, and the big crashes that could result.

It finally happened at the Japanese Grand Prix in March as Oliver Bearman hurtled toward a barrier at 190 mph (306 kph) while trying to avoid Franco Colapinto. Bearman was left limping but it could have been worse at a street circuit with barriers closer to the track.

There’s now a cap on the extra power from the overtake “boost” mode, and other limits to electrical power in certain areas.

Other safety-focused changes will speed up slow-moving cars at a race start or aim to make cars more controllable in wet weather — conditions the 2026 cars have yet to face.

Qualifying becomes a different challenge

Qualifying will feel faster but actually be slower now that drivers aren’t lifting off the gas as often to recharge batteries.

That's because the batteries won't recharge quite as much, and they'll charge more quickly at high speed, too. That means the drivers will be “flat out” more often, even if less electrical power means the cars will be slower overall, Tombazis has said.

“We felt drivers had to do some slightly counterintuitive or unnatural things in order to extract the best performance out of qualifying,” he said.

That largely matchesrecommendationsby Mercedes’ George Russell, who’s started 2026 as a title contender and is influential in the paddock as a drivers' association director.

What hasn't changed

The changes don't give drivers much more control over how and when most of the electrical power is deployed.

Except for the optional boost button for overtaking, most of the time, complex algorithms release the power or cut it back in a way that isn't directly related to the driver's use of the gas pedal. That could mean drivers still get unexpected power spikes which can waste power or make the car tricky to control.

Some of the changes mean more automatic control of the power, lowering the limit in certain parts of the circuit for safety reasons.

Tombazis confirmed there was no measure specifically to stop unintentional overtaking, often caused by getting more power than expected at an unfavorable point on the track, but argued other safety-focused changes “go to some extent towards addressing this issue.”

What’s next

Tombazis said the FIA will keep reviewing how the regulations work at upcoming races and could make further changes. There isn't an obvious time to do so until the summer break in August, with eight races before then.

Teams will be hunting for any loopholes in the meantime. Tombazis says he has a regulations staff of around 15 at the FIA, compared to 3,000 engineers across the 11 teams.

“The fact we had a break meant that we could concentrate on these discussions while we didn’t have to go racing every other weekend. It doesn’t mean that these discussions cannot continue,” he said Monday.

There's also the looming question of what comes next for F1 when these regulations run their course, by 2030 at the latest.
